Meliora Plant-Based Ham Style Slices into Woolworths

Meliora by My Life (creators of BioCheese) is now available at Woolworths supermarkets across Australia. According to the food brands CEO, Meliora’s plant-based deli slices might just be the “real deal”.

Australian supermarket Woolworths added new-to-market Meliora Plant-Based Ham Style Slices to 450 store shelves nationally.

The supermarket chain picked up this new and innovative brand following its success as a component of BioCheeses’ snacking trio lines.

“Keen-eyed BioCheese customers had noticed the ‘Meliora’ brand included in the ingredient panel of our world first plant-based snacking lines”, CEO Vicky Pappas shared. “This very intentional decision left the door open to our expansion into plant-based proteins under a new brand, namely Meliora”.

Online, customers have reported purchasing BioCheese Snack Pack trios by the dozen to assemble wholly plant-based toasties. “Since our September launch last year, countless customers have reached out to us directly pleading for the plant-based ham (and salami) product(s) to be available for individual sale”, Pappas noted, “and now, they are!”.

The team at Meliora have further reformulated in the background to bring an unmatched, ‘next generation’ product to market that is both a source of protein and Made in Australia.

The brand name, ‘Meliora’, is also quite striking. Stemming from the Latin word ‘meliorism’, the brand centres itself on the belief that every small human effort can have a positive effect on the world.

While the Meliora Plant-Based Ham Style Slices are their first product to market, the brand has numerous novel products waiting in the wings.“BioCheese was first-to-market with plant-based cheese here in Australia. It is our ambition that Meliora will make its own mark as an innovator and market-leader in the protein space”, Pappas shared.

Meliora Plant-Based Ham Style Slices will hit Woolworths shelves from Monday 9th May.
